Wendy Clark, President and Founder
Wendy Clark founded Carpe Diem Cleaning in 1994 as a young entrepreneur eager to make a difference in her community. Her life background, including spending formative years abroad, spurred her desire to create a service known for its excellence while providing resources for others in need of opportunities. Today, the rapidly growing business serves nearly 400 clients, making it the largest locally-based residential cleaning service in the area.
Wendy and Carpe Diem Cleaning have been recognized for excellence in entrepreneurship and small business growth, receiving Durham's 2001 Micro Business of the Year Award and being named to the Triangle Business Journal's "40 under 40" list in 2002. Wendy has also served as president of her local chapter of Business Networking International.
Wendy's intense desire to give back to the community motivates her work to improve her hometown of Durham and its impact on surrounding cities. She focuses on programs to help underprivileged children, and is a regular speaker for events geared to develop entrepreneurs. Wendy believes strongly in being an integral team player within the community and always strives to model principle-based integrity.
Jessica Clark, Vice President of Operations
Starting her career with Carpe Diem Cleaning as a Team Member during summer breaks in high school, Jessica has had extensive experience with each aspect of the growing company throughout the years. Graduating with a B.A. in 2006, Jessica focused her academic studies in Business Administration. Her academic experiences, coupled with having grown up with the business, give her unique insight as she develops the operating procedures for Carpe Diem Cleaning's continued success.
Jessica is passionate about being an asset to those around her. She approaches her work with Carpe Diem Cleaning as the creation of opportunity for both the added value of peace to her clients and the advancement of the company's Team Members. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and training her dog.
Hannah Benfield, Vice President of Client Relations
Recently joining Carpe Diem Cleaning in the summer of 2007, Hannah has over five years experience working in customer service. Graduating from the University of Southern California in 2006 with a degree in Business Administration, Hannah enjoys the challenges and rewards of working with clients to find solutions for their homes’ needs. Now back to her native city of Durham, she is excited to be a part of Carpe Diem Cleaning, working to add value to the local community within the blossoming revitalization of the RTP Area.
She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, watching USC football games and Salsa dancing.
The Teams
Each of our teams has two to three Team Members, including a trained and experienced Team Leader.
